2023 North Carolina Trombone Festival

26th Annual - January 21, 2023

The North Carolina Trombone Festival was founded 25 years ago by Dr. Randy Kolenberg, Professor of Trombone at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. For 2023, the Festival has moved to the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, hosted by Dr. Jeremy Marks, Assistant Professor of Trombone.

Designed for trombonists of all ages, the festival cultivates fellowship through clinics, presentations, solo recitals, and ensemble performances. Participants have opportunities to join esteemed faculty from North Carolina and the greater region in a variety of settings.

This year, the festival will host international soloist, Yu Tamaki Hoso. He has dazzled audiences in Japan, Europe, and the US as a soloist and orchestral musician. Yu is a S.E. Shires Trombone Artist and Willie's Custom Brass Mouthpieces of Yamanashi.
